Land Clearing and Grubbing

Light vegetation. $500-2,000/acre

Medium vegetation. $2,000-3,500/acre

Heavy vegetation. $3,500-4,500/acre

Harsh conditions. $4,500-6,000/acre

In Eastern Georgia most residential jobs fall under the light vegetation category with some agricultural jobs moving into the medium vegetation category. Harsh conditions refers to areas with hard or rocky soil, uneven terrain, or wetlands. The primary factors driving cost is the size and density of trees and whether or not the debris can remain on site or if it needs to be removed.

Site Prep and Grading

Relatively even terrain $500-1,000/acre

Uneven or hard terrain $1,000-2500/acre

In Eastern Georgia most residential and agricultural jobs fall into the even terrain category. The primary factors driving cost is how much material needs to be removed or brought in, the soil type, and the complexity of drainage requirements.

Forestry Mulching

Light-medium vegetation $1,000-2,000/acre

Heavy / dense vegetation $1,000-2,500/acre

In Eastern Georgia most residential and agricultural jobs fall into the light-medium category. The primary factors driving cost is the extent of tree removal that is required or not required.

Rural Road Construction (unpaved)

Road and driveway construction is generally priced by the sq/ft.

Earth / dirt surface. $1-3 per sq/ft

Gravel / aggregate surface. $2-5 per sq/ft

200ft road (67 yds). $2,500-6,000

500ft road (167 yds). $6,000-15,000

Tree Removal

Tree size under 10ft $150-300/tree

Tree size 10-30ft $300-800/tree

Tree size 30-50ft. $800-1,200/tree

Tree size over 50ft. $1,200-4,000/tree

The primary factors driving cost are size (ht/diameter), accessibility, proximity to structures, special equipment required, safety concerns and overall risk.
